THE ABCs of FAITH 19
HOW FAITH COMES
So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
Romans 10: 17
Thank God for another day to get into the Word. We are going to continue to lay out our step by step plan from the Word to help you in obtaining faith. We are laying a foundation in the Word which produces strong faith. We stated yesterday that many speak of their lack of faith but lack of faith is really not the problem. Faith accompanies knowledge. If you are going to be strong in faith you must be strong in the knowledge of the Word. The Bible tells us to fight the good fight of faith. Romans 10: 17 tells us how we get faith. There are certain cardinal doctrines or teachings that you must grasp to get Bible faith. Let's look once again at Romans 10: 17.
So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Romans 10: 17
You must feed upon the Word to get faith. Lack of faith is a due to a lack of knowledge or understanding of the Word of faith. There are 6 areas of understanding you must have to obtain New Testament, Bible faith.
#1 understanding the new birth. (We studied this yesterday)
#2 understanding our place in Christ.
#3 understanding of our righteousness - what it is and what it gives!
This holds more people in bondage than anything else!
James 5: 17 says the prayers of a righteous man avails much. The example the Bible used to illustrate this was Elijah. When Jezebel was out to kill him he prayed Lord let me die - Elijah was righteous because of the blood of bulls and goats that were sacrificed to Jehovah, not because of his own righteousness. The Word says; Blessed is the man whose sin is covered (Psalm 32). 2 Cor. 5: 21 says we have been made the righteousness of God in Christ. We are righteous new creatures (2 Corinthians 5: 17). God did not make an unrighteous new creature.
Righteousness means being in right-standing with God. We can stand in the presence of God as if we had never sinned! The end of sin consciousness has arrived for the believer who understands his righteousness!
WHAT IF I SIN?
Sin makes us spiritual cowards! Jesus is the cure for sin. When you sin don't run from Jesus, run to Him, because He is the solution or cure! 1 John 1: 9 is to keep you right with God. It says; "If we confess our sins, He is faith and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
I have seen many use this verse in an altar call for the lost but "This is written to Christians!" John was not writing to the world but to the Church. Man we need to rightly divide the Word...
Sin makes you feel spiritually inferior! When we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness! Unrighteousness is just the word righteousness with the prefix un added to it. When we confess our sin Jesus removes the un!
Walk in the light you have and His blood continually cleanses you ...Meaning just do what you know and the blood will cleanse you from what you don't know. Praying Lord make me holy is an unscriptural prayer for the Christian! Why? You are holy! The blood of Jesus cleanses us and makes us holy!
"When we know that we are the righteousness of God in Christ, then we step out of the narrow place of failure where we have lived into the boundless fullness and blessings of God."
Romans 10: 17 So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
Live Well, Live Blessed!

Author's note:
These lessons are written "daily" like as the fresh manna fell daily in Israel. No left-overs for God's people! What an honor to be able to share with God's people. PLEASE, excuse me if there is an occasional typo. The fresh nature of the newsletter does not allow time for me to have them proof-read. The time is short!
